Franz Wagner scored 19 points as Orlando earned its fifth straight win. The Magic outscored the Celtics 53-58 and held the lead for the final 37 minutes of the game.
Jayson Tatum had 31 points and Jaylen Brown 26 for Boston (22-8), who suffered their third loss in four games.
Boston’s Robert Williams played in his first game since the NBA Finals after undergoing left knee surgery during the preseason and had nine points and five rebounds in 18 minutes.
Assisted by Al Horford’s two 3-pointers in the opening minutes, the Celtics led 14-5 against a team with the third-worst record in the Eastern Conference.
The Magic recover and close the first period with a run of 15-4 crowned by a triple by Banchero on the buzzer.
For the Celtics, Horford played 16 minutes, in which he had six points, six rebounds and one assist.
