Magda Vasiliu told on her Facebook account that she watched the shows in which her case was discussed, but she was disappointed by Mugur Ciuvică’s reaction. He said her son, Vlad, could do it alone in the hospital and did not need a parent by his side. The Prima TV presenter wanted to explain that her son is in a wheelchair and that he can’t do anything alone. Moreover, all the children in the hospital have a parent next to him. She advised Mugur Ciuvică to read the legislation and then speak.
“Today I made time and watched the shows that dealt with my case. I thank my colleagues for their support. But I was terribly struck by Mr. Mugur Ciuvica’s attitude. I heard him say with astonishing relief that Vlad could do without me in a hospital in Italy. First of all, according to Italian law, I am forbidden to leave my child alone in the hospital. In addition, unfortunately, my baby was not born polyglot! He is a 7 and a half year old child who does not understand Italian and does not express himself in Italian! How could he stay in the hospital alone? How??? At the hospital in Rome, all children up to the age of 18 are permanently accompanied by their parents! Does Mr. Ciuvică know, for example, that until a surgery scheduled in a month, my child is not allowed to stand or walk? My baby has been in a wheelchair for three months. How does it go to the toilet? How to wash? How does he take his basin to vomit after chemotherapy? This is what Mr. Ciuvică should answer, but before that he should start reading the laws of civilized countries! And to those who give their opinion and say that chemotherapy is also done in Romania and that I should not have left, I say this: I went at the urging of some Romanian doctors, on my own money, with a European health card to which I am entitled because I contributed!
Before you give your opinion, make sure you know what you are talking about!
As for our laws regarding the care of a sick child, there is not much to say … Let those who made the current law tell me what is the difference between a child of 6 years and 11 months and one of 7 years and 2 days. I don’t notice … It probably doesn’t bother me … Because there must be a difference, even a substantial one, since the Romanian law treats them completely differently! “, Said Magda Vasiliu.
