Darmstadt (ots) –
Late on Monday evening (February 28) around 10:45 p.m., noise and smoke caught the attention of residents on Koblenzer Strasse, who immediately called the police. When the officials checked what was going on, they found three teenagers in the public school area who had allegedly set newspapers on fire on the building’s wall. The officers extinguished the fire and took the three 16, 17 and 18 year olds from Miltenberg, Fürth and Darmstadt to the police station. There, the complaint was recorded and an investigation was initiated on suspicion of arson. According to initial estimates, the damage to the school building caused by the smoke and flames amounts to around 3,000 euros. After completing all police measures, the 18-year-old was released to go home and his two companions were handed over to their legal guardians. Commissariat 10 of the Darmstadt criminal police is entrusted with the further investigations. Officials can be reached on 06151/9690 for relevant information.
