MOSCOW – An intelligence expert claims a private plane crash that killed 10 people, including the mercenary boss Wagner Group Yevgeny Prigozhin, was a mafia-style attack coordinated by the President Russia Vladimir Putin.
Professor Anthony Glees, an intelligence expert from Buckingham University, told The Sun Online that the attack involved bombs possibly mounted on the landing gear or near the aircraft’s tanks.
The Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft crashed in Tver while traveling from Moscow to St Petersburg on Wednesday (23/8/2023) local time.
Professor Glees believes that Putin made a deliberate attempt to kill Prigozhin and his close associates by sabotaging the business jet.
“My working theory now is that some sort of bomb is attached to both of the Embraer jet’s fuel tanks (it has two, one on each wing; it’s a very safe plane), one on each side,” he said.
He later explained that this would cause any of the tanks used in the flight to break and that eventually the wing housing the tanks would break off completely.
“This is completely consistent with what we know about the flight behavior of the jet at the critical moment of 18.19 local time,” he said, which was launched Saturday (26/8/2023).
Flight tracking data from FlightRadar24 also pointed out that there was likely at least one catastrophic event in the air minutes before Prigozhin’s plane crashed.
