“Marģeris Zariņš was an excellent composer and writer with a strong sense of humor. The artist himself used to joke that music was his wife, but literature was his “favorite”. In my opinion, Marģeris Zariņš is a personality that should not be forgotten, so it is necessary to tell more about him,” says Maestro Raimonds Pauls about the idea of the concert performance, who admits that Marģeris Zariņš is also a great authority for him.
Concert performance “Hello, Margheri!” the content consists not only of Marħer Zariņš’s melodies arranged by Raimonds Paul, but also fragments of Zariņš’s story “The Wonderful Adventures of Didrik Taizeļis”. It seems that the author encoded a part of himself in the image of Taizelis – the image of a witty and vital bohemian.
Actors Dace Bonāte, Juris Bartkevičs, Raimonds Celms and Ieva Aniņa take part in the concert performance. Musicians: Maestro Raimonds Pauls – piano, Gidons Grīnbergs – violin, Valdis Zilvers – accordion, Andris Grunte – bass, Māris Briežkalns – drums.
