President Nicolás Maduro ruled this Monday on the arrests of the Anti-Corruption Police.
“We have assumed a frontal position in the fight against corruption and the corrupt, against those who steal from the people, wherever they are, wherever they come from, whatever they believe,” said Maduro.
He also assured that anyone who steals people’s money must “put the hooks on them.” He admitted that in addition to there being criminal cases in PDVSA and Sunacrip, there are sentences being sold to favor drug traffickers and criminals, by judges from the Caracas judiciary.
“Having established on each front the clear and direct responsibilities of these officials, businessmen, of these people, the anti-corruption police proceeded to capture them, arrest them, put the hooks on them and hand them over to the Public Ministry so that they can proceed immediately to complete the investigation.” he added.
Let us remember that since last Friday, the Anti-Corruption Police arrested public officials who are allegedly linked to acts of corruption.
Given this, Maduro wrote on his Twitter account that “a true revolutionary is characterized by sensitivity, humanism and, above all, honesty.”
“Today more than ever our actions must be guided by spirituality. Ethics and morals high! Let’s defeat the anti-values!” added the president.
On Sunday the 19th, the PSUV also applauded “the actions that the Venezuelan State has been developing to strengthen the fight against corruption as a scourge that seeks to corrode the morals, principles and values of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
Likewise, the ruling party expressed that it “puts itself in order” in order to contribute to the institutions in charge of combating these actions.
