Nicolas Maduro announced this Thursday that on Monday, October 25, the vaccination against covid-19 of young people over 12 years old will begin. This in relation to the return to face-to-face classes.
This was reported during a meeting with a delegation from the island on the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and Venezuela.
However, he did not specify which of the immunizers will be applied to those over 12 years of age.
Maduro assured that until this October 21, 56% of the population of Venezuela was vaccinated. He estimated that on the 31st of this month 70% of Venezuelans will be immunized.
He also stated that he hopes that on December 31 vaccination will cover 95% of the population.
Sovereign for children from 2 years
Earlier, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported that it is planned to massively vaccinate children between 2 and 12 years old with the Cuban vaccine candidate Soberana 02.
«As of January, arrangements have already been made to produce Abdala in Venezuela, “he added.
He said that it is still being studied how many Cuban vaccines could be produced in Venezuela. He affirmed that until this Thursday, 16 million vaccines from Cuba have arrived in the country.
Colombia
Asked about the possible normalization of diplomatic relations with Colombia, Maduro said he was in favor.
He added that he hopes that the binational commission between the parliaments of both countries will give the expected results so that the representations of embassies and consulates are reestablished.
However, he again attacked Iván Duque accusing his government of xenophobia, persecution and extermination of Venezuelan migrants.
In this regard, he assured that for this reason he hopes to reestablish the consular presence in Colombia to provide assistance to Venezuelans who, he said, are being mistreated by the Colombian government.
