Madura United gain recognition as a professional club. Laskar Sape Kerrab received a certificate from the AFC after fulfilling the five main aspects of the AFC version.
This certificate is awarded by the Asian Football Confederation for clubs that fulfill the main aspects of professionalism. In addition to recognition, clubs that meet these requirements can also appear in continental tournaments such as the Asian Champions League or the AFC Cup.
For Madura United, this is the fourth time they have received recognition from the AFC. To get this certificate is not easy, because there are many conditions that must be met by the club.
“There are five important aspects that must be fulfilled by the club. These five aspects are legality, finance, infrastructure, human resources and administration, as well as sporting or (early childhood development),” said Madura United Manager Zainal Hudha Purnama, in a club release.
A total of nine Indonesian clubs have received professional recognition from the AFC. They are; Arema FC, Bali United, Bhayangkara FC, Borneo FC, Persib Bandung, Persija Jakarta, Persebaya Surabaya, PSM Makassar and Madura United.
The AFC mandated verification of this license to PSSI through AFC Club Licensing. The team from the PSSI club license came to Madura United FC in Bali, to provide a report as well as the 2021 AFC Licensing Club certificate, which was received directly by its new manager Zainal Hudha Purnama.
“This honor means a lot to Madura United FC and I in particular, considering that with this certificate, it is clear that we (Madura United) are very ready for next season with high targets,” said Zainal Hudha Purnama.
Meanwhile, Bali United and PSM Makassar will represent Indonesia in the 2022 AFC Cup. Incidentally, both of them have the right to appear because they have passed the AFC license.
