Madrid’s Troubled Victory

Vigo

Real Madrid managed to beat Celtic vigo 3-1. Although the final score was very convincing, the win was considered by the coach Zinedine Zidane not easy to come by.

Madrid travel to Celta Vigo’s headquarters in Baladios in the LaLiga continuation, Saturday (20/3/2021) evening WIB. Madrid led 2-1 in the first half with Karim Benzema’s goals and the home side equalized through Santi Mina.

Los Blancos have to wait for the third goal in injury time. Benzema’s cross was successfully converted into a goal by Marco Asensio.

Celta Vigo is actually slightly superior in possession of the ball than Madrid with 51 percent versus 49 percent. There was also Iago Aspas’ free-shot ball which hit the post in the second half.

“The first half was incredible, the score was 2-1. In the second half we suffered more, but we were quite okay, we closed the space and we knew what to do with the ball,” Zidane said as quoted by ABC.

An additional three points makes Madrid move up to second place in the standings with 60 points, three points from Atletico Madrid at the top who have played 28 times and one point from Barcelona in third place.

“This is a very important win. There is a lot of talk (the title), but we are still alive. We are extending 10 consecutive games without losing, eight wins and two draws,” Zidane confirmed.
