Carlo Ancelotti judged that his team was not the favorite against Barcelona from Spanish Super Cup. Although, the Blaugrana are currently still struggling in the Spanish League.

Los Blancos’ four goals against Valencia were made possible by a brace from Karim Benzema (43 and 88 minutes), and Vinicius Jr (52 and 61 minutes). Meanwhile, the Black Bats could only narrow the gap from Goncalo Guedes’ goal in the 76th minute.
This victory makes Madrid more firmly at the top of the standings. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have 49 points, eight ahead of second-placed Sevilla.
This result is a slick capital for El Real to face Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. Madrid will meet their eternal rival at the King Fahd International Stadium, Saudi Arabia, Thursday (13/1/2022).
In contrast to Madrid, Barcelona welcomes this match with a less good situation. They still haven’t performed consistently in LaLiga.
In the last match, Barcelona was only able to draw with Granada 1-1. Barcelona is currently in sixth place with 32 points.
Even though Barcelona is in a difficult situation, Ancelotti reluctant to underestimate this Catalan club. He considered Barcelona to be their main rival. Don Carlo insists Madrid are not underdogs to win the Spanish Super Cup.
“Barcelona will always be our rivals. We may be favorites in theory but the reality will be on the pitch. We started at 0-0 and both teams will give everything they have out there,” Ancelotti was quoted as saying on Real Madrid’s website.
“This is an important event and the first chance every team has to win the title this season. It doesn’t matter whether we are favorites or not,” he explained.
