UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin refuses to predict the winner final Liga Champions. Real Madrid and Liverpool each have advantages.
The 2021/2022 Champions League Final will stage Liverpool vs Real Madrid at the Stade de France. The match was held on Sunday (29/5/2022) in the morning WIB.
It will be the club’s fourth meeting in four years. Madrid are unbeaten with wins, including beating Liverpool 3-1 in the 2018 final.
In this season, Real Madrid showed a sensational performance since the knockout stages. The whites made a comeback to eliminate Paris Saint-Germain (top 16), Chelsea (quarter-finals), and Manchester City (semi-finals).
Meanwhile Liverpool looked convincing after just one loss and won 10 wins in 12 matches overall. Although it is undeniable that the Reds faced opponents who on paper were easier in the knockout round; Inter Milan (16th round), Benfica (quarter-finals) and Villarreal (semi-finals).
Ceferin likens Madrid to a mythical cat who has nine lives and is filled with a more mature squad. While Liverpool will be fired with defeat in the previous final.
“In the semi-finals I had doubts that Real could get rid of Manchester City, especially after the defeat in the first game,” Ceferin told 24ur.com Sportwhich was gazetted AS. “But it’s clear they have nine lives like a cat.”
“They are an experienced team. But in my opinion, their defense is weak. They have an amazing Karim Benzema, who I have said many times that he is one of the most underrated players in history. As for Luka Modric the older the better. “
“But Liverpool have younger players and they have important experience in the final. I dare not predict who the winner will be, because later it can be misinterpreted. But it will be an interesting and extraordinary final,” Ceferin said of final Liga Champions between Liverpool vs Real Madrid.
