Real Madrid swallowed the disappointment the last time he appeared in European Super Cup. Midfielder Luka Modric I don’t want to feel that way again this year.
Real Madrid vs Frankfurt took place at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, Thursday (11/8/2022) in the morning WIB. El Real comes with the status of Champions League champions and Frankfurt is the champion of the Europa League.
Since becoming an official event in 1973, Madrid have only won the European Super Cup four times from seven involvements. The last time Madrid appeared in 2018 and failed to win the title because they lost on penalties to Atletico Madrid.

Modric felt that moment of failure. The Croatian man did not want disappointment to reappear against Frankfurt.
“This is a very important trophy for us at the start of the season. We wanted to start well. We remember the last time we competed, we lost to Atletico Madrid and we don’t want to have that feeling again,” Modric was quoted as saying by UEFA’s website.
Modric will turn 36 in September. Although not young anymore, the former Tottenham Hotspur player remains a mainstay of Madrid.
“To reach this level, you have to dedicate a lot to this profession,” Modric said when asked about his ability to stay consistent in the game.
“On and off the pitch you need so much focus, but that’s what we all do. As a group, we are doing well. Ready to have a good season – ready to give our all.”
