Atletico Madrid defeat Real Madrid 3-1 in the Madrid Derby. Alvaro Morata was the star of Los Rojiblancos’ victory with his two goals.
Atletico Madrid hosted Real Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano in the Madrid Derby match, Monday (25/9) early morning WIB. Atletico was able to take a two goal lead first.
Alvaro Morata opened the scoring in the 4th minute. Antoine Griezmann then doubled the goals for the hosts thanks to his goal in the 18th minute.
Madrid narrowed the gap in the 35th minute from Toni Kroos. Score 2-1 for Atletico to close the first half.
One minute into the second half, Atletico pulled away again. Morata scored his second goal in this match.
Atletico was able to maintain a 3-1 lead until the match was over. This result makes Los Rojiblancos move up to fifth in LaLiga with 10 points. Meanwhile, Madrid is in third place with 15 points.

The Course of the Match
Atletico Madrid started the match very well. They were able to take the lead when the game had only been running for four minutes.
Samuel Lino’s cross from the left was headed by Alvaro Morata. Kepa Arrizabalaga did not move when he saw the ball lodged in his goal.
Atletico’s fast attacks really troubled Madrid. They could double their lead in the 18th minute. A cross from the left was again the start of Los Rojiblancos’ goal.
This time, Antoine Griezmann headed Saul’s cross into a goal. Atletico lead 2-0.
Madrid tried to get up. Their efforts to reduce the deficit bore fruit in the 36th minute.
Toni Kroos fired a measured low shot from the front of the penalty box. Jan Oblak was unable to block Kroos’ shot.
