Madrid brings together 10 emerging artists in 31 edition of Circuitos Artes Plásticas

Madrid, Dec 19 (EFE) .- The Community of Madrid presents the 31st edition of Circuits of Plastic Arts, starring ten young artists from Madrid or residents of the region gathered around the exhibition ‘The house fell, the lady climbed’, which can be visited in the Sala de Arte Joven until February 28, 2021 with free admission.

Lucía Bayón, Mar Cubero, Weixin Chon, Pablo García Martínez, Julián Pacomio, Clara Pereda, Claudia Claremi, Mar Reykjavik, Marta van Tartwjk and An Wei are the artists in this exhibition curated by Beatriz Ortega Botas, explains this Saturday the regional government in a statement.

The title of the show, ‘The house fell, the lady climbed’, gives an account of “this moment in which we live and the changes that have occurred in recent months”, of how the crisis “gives rise to the birth of other scenarios “, emphasizing the” cyclical possibility of existence and organization “in times and spaces out of the” ordinary “.

The exhibition brings together the different discourses of art at a time of change, which emerging artists have faced through autobiography, cultural identity, reflection on forms or the use of all kinds of artistic techniques.

In this way, ‘The house fell, the lady climbed’ becomes a “reminder” that we have new health protocols, new capacities and another artistic context, but also that the art world “does not stop”, that Circuits has had “constant” adaptations of all the projects of the selected artists.

A catalog has also been published that includes the set of selected works that are accompanied by a text by the curator, who has drawn in ‘The house fell, the lady climbed’ a journey through all the works, “without forcing parallels”, but “welcoming and emphasizing” the elements common to all the proposals.

In addition to guided tours for groups and meetings with the curator, the exhibition has the ‘Circuit Madrid’ program of activities, which seeks to disseminate and expand the projection of the selected artists through a set of actions designed and carried out by the artists themselves , which will take place in the Sala de Arte Joven (located at number 13 avenida de América) and in different spaces in the region.
