This Wednesday starts the vaccination against COVID-19 to the population aged 40 to 49 in the Madrid’s community, the last region to join this age group. Those born between 1975 and 1972 have begun to be called for vaccinations, which are more than 466,000 citizens in the region.
Madrid has already administered a total of 3,987,437 doses of the 4,708,415 received, and immunization already reaches 21.2 percent of the Madrid population.
How is the population notified to get vaccinated?
This new age group, like the previous ones, will receive their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine in Madrid public hospitals, mainly Pfizer, after receiving a SMS to confirm the appointment or request a Date change.

This is how vaccination progresses in Madrid
The entire population 80 years and older is already vaccinated in the Community of Madrid. In the next band, that of 70 to 79 years, 95.8% already have at least one dose and 91.3% are already immunized.
On the other hand, 90.4% of the population aged between 60 and 69 years have already received the first dose and 2% have completed their immunization. Furthermore, in the 50-59 age bracket the percentages are 76.6% and 23.9% respectively.
