Mother of God. In an operation carried out by the South East Puno Anti-Illicit Drug Trafficking Division (DIVMCTID-SO-Puno), a rustic laboratory for the production of Basic Cocaine Paste (CBP) was incinerated. The action was carried out in the Alto Manuani sector, Inambari district, Tambopata province. This took place on March 15.
In the criminal center, a maceration pond was found, where 1,200 kilos of coca leaves remained in process. A catchment pond was also located. This contained 962 kilos of petroleum products, and five hectares of coca crops.
Among the materials and chemical inputs, 20 kilos of lime, 5 kilos of sulfuric acid, 85 kilos of cement and 30 kilos of sodium bicarbonate were found.
This operation included the participation of personnel from the Anti-Drug Directorate of the National Police of Peru (Dirandro) and the Anti-Drug Tactical Operations Department of Puerto Maldonado, Madre de Dios region (DEPOTAD-PM-MDD).
Successful intervention
The intervention managed to locate the alleged criminal organization, which was manufacturing the drug. The action began at 3:00 am and ended at 8:00 pm. of the cited date.
In the presence of a representative of the Public Ministry, the Police incinerated the inputs, the plantations and the ponds. This intervention directly impacted the criminal organization with a loss of US$12 thousand.
