Legend,
The two fans “would not have paid for their tickets” if they had known the show would end so late, according to court documents.
Two Madonna fans are suing the American singer for being more than two hours late to a concert last month in New York, according to court documents.
They state that the show was supposed to start at 8:30 p.m. EST all three nights, but in each case it didn’t start until after 10:30 p.m. and ended around 1:00 a.m.
The case says they “would not have paid for the tickets” if they had known it would end so late.
The BBC has asked Madonna, Live Nation and the Barclays Center for comment.
The case, brought by Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, states that “many ticket holders who attended concerts on a weeknight had to get up early to go to work and/or attend to family responsibilities the next day.”
They are suing promoter Live Nation and Barclays Center for “false advertising, negligent misrepresentation and unfair and deceptive trade practices.”
Fellows and Hadden attended the show on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, but legal documents note that other parties at the same venue, on December 14 and 16, also allegedly started more than two hours late.
“Defendants failed to inform ticket holders that the concerts would start significantly later than the start time printed on the ticket and as advertised, resulting in ticket holders waiting for hours,” the document states. .

Legend,
The show included dozens of dancers but no bands, with many songs pieced together from original tapes.
Court documents also state that Madonna “has a long history of arriving and starting her concerts late, sometimes several hours late,” citing examples such as “her 2016 Rebel Heart tour, her 2019 Madame -2020 and earlier tours, where Madonna continued”. started his concerts more than two hours late”.
The plaintiffs are suing for unspecified damages.
This isn’t the first time fans have objected to the singer being late for her concerts, and in 2019, a fan filed a lawsuit over being late for a US show, but he voluntarily dismissed the case a month later, selon ABC News.
The same year, Madonna had shared a post of her live on stagein which she told fans: “There is something you all need to understand. And that’s because a queen is never late.”
Madonna’s sold-out Celebration Tour was a blockbuster show featuring more than 40 songs from across her career, celebrating the 40th anniversary of her single, Holiday, playing in venues including the United States, Canada and Europe.
The singer suffered health scares last summer, after being found unconscious in her New York apartment in June and rushed to hospital, where she was treated for a serious bacterial infection.
