Madonna Faces Fine for Breaking O2 Arena’s Time Rule

Due to technical problems, the queen of pop had to cut her performance short, but even so, she broke the O2 arena’s strict rule that any event on Sunday must end no later than 10:30 p.m. by 30 minutes. For this violation, the singer faces a fine of 300,000 pounds sterling (almost 350 thousand euros).

The protocol of Arena “O2” provides that from Monday to Saturday any event must end no later than 11 p.m., while on Sunday the time allotted for events is half an hour shorter – until 10:30 p.m.

The newspaper “The Sun” informs that the rules of London transport and “O2” arena provide for a penalty of 10,000 for every minute that exceeded the permitted time of the event. Whether the claim will be brought and the penalty will really have to be paid is currently not specified.

Madonna was unable to start the show on time and performed until 11pm, meaning many fans missed the last subway.

The 65-year-old pop star also failed to please the audience with such big hits as ‘Bitch, I’m Madonna’, ‘Holiday’, ‘Like A Virgin’ and ‘Celebration’. The four acts, who were due to be called back on stage at the end of the concert, missed out on Sunday for the London showgoers.

Let us remind you that on Saturday, with a concert at the “O2” arena, the queen of pop music started her long-awaited world tour after the serious illness she suffered in the summer. On Sunday, the second concert took place in the British capital and left many visitors bitter. Due to the shortened concert, they were not able to enjoy the entire program of the show, and some did not make it to the last public transport to get home.

Several fans suggested that the Queen of Pop could have performed her entire two-hour program if she had started the concert earlier and fans would not have had to wait until 9 p.m.

Several have also expressed their frustration on the website X (formerly Twitter), claiming they paid £1,300 for a ticket and were ‘taken away from the concert finale’.

A concert ticket has cost an average of 200 pounds, but the most exclusive ones have exceeded four figures.
