Madison Beer choked back smoke as she was hit by tear gas while protesting George Floyd’s death in Santa Monica on Sunday.
The singer, 21, shared her ordeal with fans on social media, admitting that she was struggling to breathe after fleeing the scene.
Madison – who also wore a mask adding to her struggle to breathe – urged other protesters to flee the scene after police arrived and started firing gas, as protests continue across the US following Floyd’s death at the hands of police officers.

‘If anyone’s in Santa Monica, please leave now. They’re tear-gassing everything, everywhere,’ Madison said as she streamed the protest on Instagram Live.
Clearly panting she added: ‘I was just tear-gassed and I can’t breathe.’
The star also warned her fans and fellow protestors about the police tactics in a post she shared with fans on Twitter.
‘LEAVE SANTA MONICA NOW IF YOU CAN I WAS JUST TEAR GASSED THEY ARE ARRESTING EVERYONE AND TEAR GASSING ALL CROWDS,’ she wrote.

Madison initially had hopes of rejoining a peaceful protest on Sunday in response to Floyd’s death last week.

Dozens of US cities have been set ablaze over the last week amid deadly clashes with police officers over the killing of George, whose death is seen as a symbol of systemic police brutality against African-Americans.
On Saturday, Madison also joined protests in West Hollywood branding signs supporting the Black Live Matter movement.
It came after the star took to Instagram on Friday to share how ‘heartbroken, enraged, and disturbed over the murder of George Floyd’ she has been.

In a moment archived by Tik Tok Room she exclaimed: ‘This is literally my f***ing natural face! Shut up already! It’s so annoying! I’m sorry I’m so mad right now.’
Madison explained that she was ‘triggered’ by an ‘eating disorder comment’ and was ‘f***ing so mad right now’ to the point she was ‘about to start crying.’
The pop act said that she had ‘struggled with my appearance’ and her ‘f***ing body,’ resulting in her emotional state on Tik Tok.
