Madiambal Diagne reacted, following the complaint announced by the pool of lawyers of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko.
“This looks like a slanderous denunciation against me,” the journalist reacted. And he warned: “In a state governed by the rule of law, it will be complaint after complaint. Even if I do not forget that during the Set Setal day, Sonko had said he was cleaning up Justice of “bad magistrates” and appointing “good magistrates” to launch prosecutions.”
Indeed, on the morning of this Saturday, Ousmane Sonko’s pool of lawyers said they had noted systematic and unjustified attacks, sometimes even insulting and/or seditious, unrelated to objective criticism of the management of power, against Prime Minister Mr. Ousmane Sonko, President of the Pastef-les-patriotes Party.
“These facts constitute essentially offenses, repressed by our penal system. As a citizen, Prime Minister Ousmane SONKO, President of Pastef-les Patriotes intends, through his counsel, to exercise his right to take legal action. In this regard, a complaint will be filed as of Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Dakar Public Prosecutor’s Office, against Madiambal Diagne in particular, for various offenses,” announced Me Bamba Cissé.
