The body bears the mark of having lain for a long time, the police write in a press release on Thursday morning.
– It is too early to have any idea what has happened, there is still an investigation and test results before we know more about the case, says station chief Frank Magne Sletten at Harstad police station.
Police were notified of the body on Monday this week. Investigations are being carried out to try to clarify the identity of the fetus.
The fetus has been autopsied and samples have been sent for further analysis. The police also conduct investigations related to the discovery site and people who may be connected to the address
A premature fetus was found at another address in Kvæfjord in October 2019, but it is too early to say whether there is any connection between these two cases or not.
