In an apartment complex in Alderly in Brisbane, Australia, a female body was discovered on 7 December.
The body was found by cleaning staff.
The police describe the remains as “well wrapped” with clothes and bedding. The body was found behind a wall of cinder blocks in the apartment building’s garage.
Married couple died: – Loving couple
The body must have probably been there since 2015. However, the coroners believe that the woman may have died back in 2009, says a new statement from the police.
Tracks residents
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham at Hendra Police Station said during a press conference on December 10 that no foul smell had ever been reported.
“These types of homicide investigations can be complex and lengthy,” Massingham said.
– I think it may take time to identify the deceased and what may be the cause of death. We currently have dozens of missing person reports that we are reviewing.
The police are now in the process of tracking down former residents of the block – which was built in 2006.
Brown hair and glasses
The autopsy estimates that the woman was between 30 and 55 years old when she died. She must be light-skinned with dark brown hair, and between 155 and 165 centimeters tall. The woman is said to have also been wearing a pair of prescription glasses.
New message after shocking murder
– I am not only appealing to people in the Alderley area, but throughout Brisbane and even further afield. If anyone has information related to a missing woman who fits the description, please contact Crime Stoppers, Massingham said in a recent statement.
At the same time, he revealed that injuries were found on the body. The police are therefore investigating the death as suspicious.
