Maddie: German suspect targeted by five requests for international judicial cooperation – News

The man may have lived in the Algarve between 1995 and 2007 and telephone records put him in the Praia da Luz area on the day the English child disappeared.

The prosecutor’s office in Braunschweig, Germany, today assumed that Maddie is dead.

Madeleine McCann disappeared a few days before she turned four, on May 3, 2007, from the room where she slept with her two younger brothers, in an apartment in a tourist village in Praia da Luz and her disappearance became a media case on a global scale.

British police first formed a team in 2011 to review all available information, opening a formal inquiry the following year, having so far spent close to £ 12 million (€ 14 million).

The Judiciary Police (PJ) reopened the investigation in 2013, after the case was dismissed by the Attorney General’s Office in 2008, clearing the three defendants, Madeleine’s parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, and another Briton, Robert Murat.
