The next chapter in the Spider-Man universe, Madame Web will star Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, who becomes a clairvoyant, and Sydney Sweeney as Spider-Woman.
Madame Web, according to the official synopsis, “tells a stand-alone origin story for one of Marvel’s most enigmatic heroines. The intense thriller stars Dakota Johnson as Cassandra Webb, a Manhattan paramedic with clairvoyant powers. Forced to confront revelations about her past, She begins a relationship with three young women who are destined for a powerful future… if they can all survive the deadly present.”
“This is really the story of Madame Web,” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously said of the film (ComicBook.com), revealing that the film will be unique. “In that sense, if you’re a Spider-Man fan, you’ll love the character because you know him from the comics, and in the comics he’s not that big, we’re doing an origin story for Madame Web. And you’ll get to know her before… how she becomes the person you know from the comics and understands how she became that person. So I think it will be a very fresh new story for fans.”
Madame Web was originally scheduled to be released on February 16, 2024, but was then pushed back two days and is now set to officially premiere on February 14, 2024.
