The striking Mad Maxvillain Hugh Keays-Byrne passed away at the age of 73. A cause of death is not yet known.
Keays-Byrne starred in the original Mad Max the role of Toecutter. This gang leader kills Max’s family in cold blood. In fact, this character is directly responsible for the creation of the title hero.
Immortan Joe
In 2015, the actor returned to the franchise with Mad Max: Fury Road, where he got to play villain Immortan Joe this time. It would be the last film that Keays-Byrne worked on.

Underappreciated
Director Ted Geoghegan calls Keays-Byrne “an underrated hero of the Australian film world”. He also says that the actor was committed to human rights and the climate.
Next Mad Max Hugh Keays-Byrne played in films such as The Salute of the Jugger, Sleeping Beauty in series to Farscape. In addition, he played regularly on stage.
