“Mad Max” meets “The Walking Dead”: German trailer for the crazy FSK-18 zombie actioner “Wyrmwood: Apocalypse” – Kino News

Eight years after the zombie splatter spectacle “Wyrmwood”, which was celebrated at genre festivals all over the world, the eagerly awaited sequel is finally coming to our home cinemas. Here’s the trailer for Wyrmwood: Apocalypse

Wyrmwood: Apocalypse is set in the middle of nowhere in Australia after the zombie apocalypse. This is where ex-soldier Rhys (Luke McKenzie) lives and works for what remains of government and military leadership. His mission: to capture zombies as test subjects so that a cure or antidote can be developed.

A particularly interesting specimen is Aboriginal girl Grace (Tasia Zalar), a human/zombie hybrid who may hold the key to ending the disaster in her blood. With his actions, however, Rhys makes the fighter Maxi (Shantae Barnes-Cowan) an enemy, who does not want to simply accept the loss of her beloved sister.

Over time, Rhys begins to understand the point of view of Maxi and other rebels. There he meets Barry (Jay Gallagher) and his sister Brooke (Bianca Bradey), who is also a hybrid. The latter seems to have a direct impact on the zombie hordes; which could also make her extremely important to Rhy’s bosses (Jake Ryan, Nicholas Boshier)…
