BENTENG, bengkuluekspress.com – Residents in a number of villages in the Pondok Kelapa Subdistrict, Bengkulu Tengah (Benteng) District are worried about the terror of dogs suspected of being rabies or commonly called mad dogs.
“The stray dog was arrested and isolated because he suspected rabies. Now the stray dog is loose and roaming around. This is what makes people worry about doing activities outside the home, ”said Head of Village Sri Kuncoro, Pondok Kelapa District, Romadhan.
Romadhan conveyed that the dog had physical characteristics of a small body, slender, yellow color without a collar / chain and was around 8-10 months old.
“We have coordinated with the medical team and Distan so that rabies animals are caught immediately. Information was obtained that these animals were still roaming in the villages of Sri Kuncoro and Pekik Nyaring, “he explained.
Separately, the Secretary of the Benteng Regency Agriculture Service (Distan), Desi Murdiati MSi, confirmed this information. In fact, Distan has deployed animal health officers to detect the presence of dogs.
“Now we are still doing sweeping, reminding the public to always be vigilant,” said Desi. (135)
