Hundreds of thousands of people of all ages enjoyed the traditional and world renowned 4th of July fireworks display from Macy’s stores.
The spectacle that lit up the skies of the city started at the scheduled time, 9:25 minutes, and more than 60,000 projectiles located in five barges were deployed in the East River.
The fires were seen from various locations along the East River in Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.
And Macy’s also designated official observation points.
As is customary in this type of celebration, the police deployed a large security operation to guarantee the peace of the party. This included thousands of agents spread out at all observation points, the canine unit and members of the city’s anti-terrorism unit, among other measures.
This was the 47th edition of the fireworks at Macy’s stores in our city, which for many New Yorkers and also tourists from all over the country have become the closing point of the Independence Day celebration.
