In relations with Russia, the West should identify red lines that Moscow should not cross. French President Emmanuel Macron said this in an interview with CBS.
In case of unacceptable behavior of Russia, sanctions should be imposed against it, the French leader is sure. Nevertheless, he also pointed out the need for a constructive dialogue with Moscow.
Earlier on Saturday, it was reported that Macron intends to hold a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin in the near future. On Friday, at the Elysee Palace, Macron received his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky. Together, they spoke with German Chancellor Angela Merkel via videoconference.
As a result, the parties “stated that the conclusions of the Paris summit held on December 9, 2019 remain fully relevant.” They also demand from Russia commitments with Ukraine to facilitate their implementation.
