Bologna, 2 December 2020 – The Maccaferri Group’s odyssey, after the crash in August, has now reached a turning point: the Ad Hoc Group (“AHG”), led by the American fund Carlyle with Stellex e GLG, won today’s auction to buy the capital of Officine Maccaferri. A potential total consideration of 9.3 million euros.
Alongside the 40 million euros of ‘bridge financing’ – whose request for approval has already been presented -, which should be injected into Officine Maccaferri by the AHG before the end of the year, the outcome of the auction marks an important step to guarantee the continuity of Officine Maccaferri, avoiding the main fears raised in the past: the disintegration or divestment of the group’s assets, whose headquarters will remain in Bologna.
The composition plan will thus be filed by 18 December which will facilitate the ‘deleveraging’ of the company (the reduction of the level of indebtedness). The AHG – Officine Maccaferri’s main creditor, which last December subscribed about 54% of the entire debt equal to 190 million euros -, “believes in the potential of Officine Maccaferri and will support the company in preserving its world leadership in the design and manufacture of engineering solutions “, reads a note.
