Maccabi broke out in the battle for the Israeli greats

Surviving a difficult stretch, Tel Aviv’s Maccabi (8/4) won the national championship.

Euroleague club in the Israeli championship 83:78 (26:20, 20:25, 17:14, 20:19) broke down the Hapoel team in Jerusalem (9/3).

With two minutes left to play, the capital club took the lead 78:75, but Keenan Evans equalized the score with a foul. Derrick Williams later scored, and the stuck Hapoel ended Jake Cohen’s free throws.

Williams scored 17 points for the winners, 14 for Jonas DiBartolomeo, 13 for Ante Žižičius, 11 for Oz Blayzer and J. Cohen (7th round).

He scored 26 points in the Jerusalem club Jalenas Adamsas (4/5 three-point, 5 res.), 14 by Retin Obasohan, 13 by Suleiman Braimoh (10 res., 4 res.), 12 by Adam Ariel.

Nineteen-year-old talent Noam Dovrat, who is considered Israel’s most prominent talent after Deni Avdiya, joined Hapoel just before the match. In his debut, he scored 3 points and -2 utility points in 10 minutes.

The Jerusalem club remains the leader of the championship even after losing, Maccabi is second.
