Macaulay Culkin: Love show with his Brenda at Academy Museum Gala

Macaulay cut an elegant figure in a black tuxedo with a velvet jacket and bow tie, while Brenda turned heads in a glamorous gold metallic dress with a stylish one-shoulder neckline and pleated skirt.

Macaulay Culkin asked friends how to get clean

This is surprising because, after his great success as a child star, Culkin was particularly noticeable for his excesses. Whether it was alcohol, psychotropic medication or hard drugs – Culkin tried it all.

How does he look at it today? “I’ve played with some fires,” he said in a 2020 Esquire interview. “At the same time, I’ve never been to a rehab clinic or done anything like that. I never had to go that route.”

How did he then make the jump? “I had friends who asked me how to get clean. And I’ve always said that I’m the last person they should ask because I give the worst advice: Just stop!”

His Brenda also stabilized him again. The couple, who have sons Dakota, 3, and Carson, 22 months, looked in good spirits as they posed for photos on the red carpet at the gala. They always pined over each other.

Macaulay and Brenda have a lot in common. Both began their acting careers at a young age (he as Kevin, she mostly in Disney films) and met in June 2017 on the set of “Changeland,” in which they were starring. The following month, the actors went on a double date and have been together ever since.
