Data released by the Statistics and Census Bureau of the Macau SAR Government on the 19th showed that in August this year, the number of tourists entering Macau reached 3.2216 million, a year-on-year increase of 8.7 times, and an increase of 16.7% compared with July. From January to August this year, the number of tourists arriving in Macau reached 17.6271 million, a year-on-year increase of 3.6 times. Analyzing from the source of tourists, in August, the number of inbound mainland tourists reached 2.3225 million, a year-on-year increase of 7 times; among them, 1.3416 million individual tourists, a year-on-year increase of 9.8 times; the number of tourists from the nine Pearl River Delta cities in the Greater Bay Area increased by 5 times year-on-year. Guangzhou and Zhuhai have the highest proportion of tourists, both exceeding 20%. The number of inbound tourists from Hong Kong and Taiwan was 711,600 and 58,100 respectively, an increase of 18.7 times and 12.3 times respectively year-on-year. According to statistics of entry channels, a total of 2.5731 million tourists entered Macau by land in August, a seven-fold increase year-on-year. Among them, tourists entering Macau through the Border Gate, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Hengqin Port accounted for 47.5%, 30.7% and 15.6% respectively; There were 421,700 passengers entering the country by sea and 226,700 passengers by air.
