After taking the first place in qualifying and winning the trial, the Team Landgraf Mercedes car was unstoppable in today’s race. After starting from the front, it was thrown away on the straight straight to the Lisboa corner. Yan Gao (Craft-Bamboo) driving a Mercedes. Yan Gao was initially under pressure from the attack of Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute from behind, and then opened the distance to less than one second.

In order to compete for the top three positions, a wonderful tug-of-war began. Mortara sometimes closed in on Yan Gao, and sometimes was under pressure from WRT BMW Team Werder’s offensive. The top four rankings were maintained until the seventh lap, when Chen Wei’an (Harmony Racing Ferrari) crashed at the Lisboa corner, causing the safety car to be deployed.

Although this reduced Maseru’s lead, when the race restarted on the 10th lap, Yan Gao slowed down and retired due to mechanical problems in his tank, which also slowed down the speed of the cars behind him. Maseru took advantage of this great opportunity to extend the lead to as much as 3 seconds, while Mortara moved up to second, with Werder in third. One lap later, Wendaliente also unfortunately had to return to the pits to replace new tires, handing over third place to Farfus. In the end, Maseru beat Mortara by 2.5 seconds to win the championship for the second time.

Maseru said after the race: “It feels amazing. I started well and Yan Gao was very fast at the beginning, but unfortunately, he encountered a problem after the safety car was deployed, which gave me a few extra seconds. time. After that, my task is to control the field and stay on top. Playing in Macau is never easy because mistakes can happen at any time, but it was a great game and I am very happy This is a great way to end my career at AMG.”
