Mac Walters has announced his departure from Bioware, after 19 years with the company where he served as one of the key minds behind Mass Effect.
Walters left a message announcing his departure from Bioware, where he started working as a writer for Jade Empire. After that first project, he became one of the main creatives on the origin of Mass Effect and was the main writer on the sequel and the third game.
New year and new adventures, says Walters on his LinkedIn page, thanks to our colleagues at Eurogamer, in a message in which he talks about his decision to leave and how difficult it was.
Walters praises his former co-workers and says he will spend a lot of time thinking about his years working at Bioware. Describing this time as a real pleasure, he wishes those who stay behind all the best.
Dragon Age Dreadwolf was the last Bioware project Walters worked on and his resume will be especially marked by Mass Effect projects. In addition to the games, he helped write many of the novels that were released to expand the Mass Effect universe.
