Mac Pro gets new AMD GPUs and can now cost nearly R$700,000

The Mac Pro computer, from Apple, won an update on the manufacturer’s online store. From now on, it is possible to buy the model with the option of new graphics cards from AMD.

The new models are Radeon Pro W6800X, Radeon Pro W6800X Duo and Radeon Pro W6900X, which bring the RDNA 2 architecture and memory configurations that can reach 128 GB in the Duo model.

In terms of performance, machine performance and energy consumption can improve by up to 50% over previous models — which improves the use of modeling, editing and content rendering software, for example. The partnership with Apple also allows the boards to have a customized cooling system, which takes advantage of the workstation’s own fans.

Availability

Graphics cards are already included in the Mac Pro’s configuration and mounting options in the brand’s online store. And, as expected, it’s not cheap to include these components in a set that already has a hefty price tag: the option of two Radeon Pro W6800X Duo with 64 GB of GDDR6 memory each involves an addition of R$ 120 thousand to the model, while the two Radeon Pro W6900X units with 32 GB of GDDR6 memory each sell for a total of R$ 145 thousand.

The Mac Pro in its most expensive version, with all the technical specifications at the most, license for all software and even the wheels, which allow the equipment movement, make the price close to R$ 700 thousand.
