My 2018 Mac mini with Intel i5 3.0 Ghz 6-core CPU won’t boot after updating macOS Monterey 12.2. I don’t know if it crashed during the installation or after. You can hear the fan in the mini turning up to 2 or 3 times and then it goes off again. The screen still stays black and then I see the light turn white, but it doesn’t do anything anymore.
Today I first upgraded my memory from 8GB to 32GB with 2x 16GB ram chips from OWC (OWC2666DDR4S32P) by an Apple retailer, I think I had the machine on for about 15 minutes. The operation was fine at that time, it was a bit faster (logical of course)… but then I thought I’d update the machine to 12.2 and then the trouble started.
What can I do now?
I use a wireless keyboard, the Magic Keyboard Space Gray and a Magic Mouse 2 Space Gray. I have not connected any peripherals to it, except for a USB hub from Satechi.

This must be common with Mac mini 2018. I have the exact same problem. I saw the update as routine but it has caused nothing but problems. The download/install has been failing/freezing for 2-days. I can boot into Safe mode, but then what? What do I do to fix this? I shutdown. I try to restart normal and it just freezes.
None of the help (re-install from recovery mode, etc.) works. There seems to be no way to revert either.
