Recently, some M1/M2 chip Mac users suddenly found that there is a problem with their computers’ Wi-Fi function.
According to the user’s description, the problem manifests itself as a sudden slowdown of the network speed without warning, resulting in problems such as stuttering while connecting to the network, and in severe cases, it can even lead to the direct interruption of the Wi- Fi.
This issue was also introduced in the blog post by Meter, a Wi-Fi installation management company, indicating that Apple has taken the feedback from users.
At the same time, Meter said that “although there are many problems in the eyes of consumers, they are essentially caused by the decrease in throughput and speed, and devices will randomly disconnect and fail to reconnect to the network.”
It is reported that Apple has basically fixed this issue in the latest macOS beta, and when the patch is confirmed as stable, it will be pushed out to users.
Before this, Apple suggested users to turn off AWDL interface (this will disable AirDrop/AirPlay), which will improve Wi-Fi performance to some extent.
