Maastricht student association members unwell during ski trip | 1Limburg

Three members of the Maastricht student association Circumflex became unwell during a winter sports holiday in Risoul, France.

That reports the US.

Complaints
At the beginning of this month, several members of the student association traveled to the ski resort. Other students from all over the Netherlands could also be found on the French slopes. During an après-ski, the winter sports enthusiasts did not feel well. They had complaints such as nausea and vomiting, memory loss, severe tremors and spontaneously collapsed their legs. Some students even had to go to hospital.

suspicion
Circumflex thinks things have gone wrong at the après ski location La Grotte du Yeti. The students may have been drugged there. The association says the security and other guests at the Yeti bar were suspicious because they didn’t resemble the average après skiers. “The men were too old, didn’t drink, didn’t dance and just kept an eye on people,” Circumflex said.

Students reported intimidating behavior, but were not taken seriously by security, according to the Maastricht student association. L1 asked Circumflex for a response on Friday, but it has not yet responded.

Research
Director Pierre Maire of La Grotte du Yeti confirms to the NOS that the French police has launched an investigation.
