Maarten is on the SBS talk show to talk about his podcast and stage show. “I like theater. Much more fun than TV, of course. Here is obviously a relatively limited environment that we have, with all those lamps and everything moving around the table. Theater is really a lot of fun.” However, he likes to create his own programs. “Otherwise I would stop immediately”.
Ever-spirited journalist Antoinette Scheulderman thinks it’s all a bit wrong. “You don’t like sitting here at the table, you say, but there you are.” Maarten decides to give an honest answer: “Well, that’s not the main desire of the last few years to sit here, let’s make it clear.”
Why then does Maarten sit under the lights of the moderately viewed talk show studio? “To advertise my theatrical tour,” the most famous grunt in the Netherlands says soberly. Still, the cameras are tempting, as he’ll also join the NPO talk show on Thursday night on Thursday. Op1.
