M1 MacBook Air in Trouble Due to Recent Big Sur 11.1 Update – One More Thing

Early this week, Apple rolled out macOS Big Sur 11.1. The update brought a lot of new stuff, including a glaring problem for the M1 Macbook Air.

There are now several users of the new MacBook Air who suffer from problems after the update. The most common problem is that the laptop suddenly restarts on its own. A problem that I myself have also encountered with my older MacBook Pro.

M1 MacBook Air randomly reboots

Thanks to macOS Big Sur 11.1, don’t be alone AirPods Max support, Apple TV + tabs and new privacy labels rolled out in the App Store. It also causes some people to suddenly have problems with their brand new M1 MacBook Air. Reports about the problems crop up in various places. We see messages on iPhone in Canada, the forum of MacRumors and Reddit.

According to reports, since the Big Sur 11.1 update, the M1 MacBook Air automatically reboots at random times. Something that, according to reports, mainly happens when users have connected the laptop to an external screen or a hub. In fact, certain users are stuck in a certain circulation. So someone reports on MacRumors that his M1 MacBook Air spontaneously switches to the screen saver, then enters the login screen when he wakes up the laptop, logs in, and then returns to the screen saver.

Big Sur issues on other models

It may be clear that most problems arise with the M1 MacBook Air, but macOS Big Sur 11.1 does cause problems for more models. Likewise, there have been reports of just a handful of users having problems with their M1 MacBook Pro and M1 Mac Mini. There are not nearly as many as with the MacBook Air, but here too it seems to be a problem where the laptop suddenly reboots.

Personally, I am using a 13-inch MacBook Pro from 2017 and my laptop also restarted right after the Big Sur 11.1 update. That is why I am curious if there are other users who have problems with their non-Apple Silicon laptops. Feel free to let us know in the comments!
