We no longer need to introduce Matthieu Chedid, the second born of a large family of artists and musicians. In more than 25 years of career, the alias he created for himself, -M-, has declined an abundant universe around pop, funk and soul. A guitarist by trade, the artist is above all a multi-instrumentalist, explorer of sounds of all kinds, fond of playful riffs.
For his seventh solo album, “Rêvalité”, released in June 2022, the artist with a colorful look adopted a new color, purple, an assembly of the red of reality and the blue of dreams, according to his explanations. As with each new release, Matthieu Chedid goes to the heart of the concept: with “revalité”, he intends to explore the track of dreamlikeness necessary for all adults, but also of purity, associated with childhood, he who was dad for the third time in 2021, at age 50.
For its new tour of the zéniths, which began in Amiens last September, -M- has surrounded itself with four talented musicians and a bass legend, Gail Ann Dorsey, who (notably) accompanied David Bowie from 1995 to 2016. on the scene. Since the start of the tour, it is not uncommon to hear the 60-year-old American, also a chorister, splendidly reinterpreting “Space Oddity”, the flagship song of the man with a thousand faces. Those who saw the -M- concert at the Arena in Reims last November can testify to this magical moment. Rebelote in Epernay?
