The social democrat Mindaugas Sinkevičius confidently won the direct mayoral elections in the Jonava district, who will lead the district for another term.
After counting the voters’ votes in all 26 election precincts of the Jonava district, 74% voted for M. Sinkevičius. voters, so he wins the mayoral election in the first round.
The final composition of the new district municipal council is also emerging. The Social Democrats are in the lead in the council elections, which will have the majority of members in the council (17 out of 25). The other parties will each have two members in the council.
The map was created by order of the Central Election Commission.
On Sunday evening, half an hour before midnight, M. Sinkevičius thanked the voters of Jonava.

We are determined to continue the work we have started and take on new challenges so that our beloved Jonava is a place where it is comfortable to live, work, spend leisure time and raise children.

10 new council members
If the people who won the elections do not give up their mandates, we can have 10 new members in the Jonava district municipal council.
In the list of LSDP, seven new council members entered the council: Rimantas Sinkevičius, Valdas Majauskas, Eisvinas Utyra, Povilas Beišys, Renata Mikalauskienė, Birutė Daškevičienė, Karolina Petrenčiuk-Naujokienė.
Arūnas Rimkus entered the council on the list of the Union of Lithuanian Peasants and Greens. He should work together with Arvydas Gasis.
Liberals can continue to be represented in the council by the same two members – Kęstutis Macionis and Žilvinas Galimovas.
The pair of conservatives in the council will most likely be Gintas Jasiulionis and Dovilė Survialitė. Votes can still be counted, because Aldona Balutienė was only 6 votes behind.
Remigijus Osauskas from the political committee “Mūsų Jonava” should also remain in the council. Darius Ulkštinas won the second mandate for this committee.
