An earthquake with a magnitude (M) of 3.5 occurred in Sukabumi, West Java. Earthquake centered on the mainland.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that the earthquake occurred on Sunday (27/11/2022), at 0721 WIB. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km.
“The epicenter was on the mainland 15 km southwest of the city Sukabumi,” wrote the BMKG on its official Twitter account.
The earthquake was at 6.92 south latitude and 106.79 east longitude. The earthquake was felt on the Modified Mercalli Intensity Scale (MMI) II-II at Gubung Guruh, MMI III Cibadak and MMI II Bogor.
Note, MMI II means that vibrations are felt by more people, hanging light objects sway. Meanwhile, the vibrations of MMI III are felt in the house. Feel the vibration as if a truck is passing by.
It is not yet known whether there were any casualties or damage caused by this earthquake.
