Although Anneke’s version was very positively received, also in Turkey, a production error has been made. “The production company has requested permission for the cover, but unfortunately not from both parties,” the broadcaster told the newspaper. Although Hakki, who wrote the song, did not give permission, composer Mustafa Sandal did agree.
A further conversation will take place later this week between AVROTROS and the lyricist: “We think it’s a storm in a teacup, hopefully the matter will be resolved by this week.” In the meantime, the version of Anneke (as a precaution) can no longer be found on YouTube or the website of the broadcaster.
