Boulevard Stalingrad which passes along the Park head gold will undergo major changes as part of the development of Voie lyonnaise 2. More specifically, it is the service road, where hundreds of vehicles now park free of charge, which is affected.
In 2026, line 2 of the Voies lyonnaises will link Fontaines-sur-Saône to Saint Priest. Its 21 km route will cross the banks of the Saône, Caluire-et-Cuire, the Part-Dieu and the Boulevard des Etats-Unis. Then, in 2030, it will be extended to Cailloux-sur-Fontaines to the north and to Mions to the south. Overall budget for this line 2: 10 million euros.
Parking spaces removed for pedestrians and cyclists
Work on the first section will begin in March 2023. This first section begins by crossing the Rhône at the Raymond-Poincaré bridge and ends in the south at the intersection of avenue Berthelot (5.9 km). Crossing the Rhône, it will take the service road of boulevard Stalingrad.
Currently, 200 parking spaces allow motorists to park for free at this location. They will all be removed to make way for pedestrians with a landscaped sidewalk and a two-way cycle path.
The plane trees will be preserved and vegetation will be added to act as a natural separation from road traffic.
