Good luck to Olivier, 56-year-old Lyonnais, who started to present brushed metal reading lights at the Affaire Conclue trade show this Thursday April 1 on France 2. He wanted to sell this lamp, which he bought three years ago, at the flea market on the Villerubanne canal. At that time, he was fascinated by its “quite strange and unusual” shape. At that time, neither the seller nor Olivier doubted the little treasure in question and agreed on a price: 10 euros.
It was only later that Olivier wondered about this lamp in a calm and elegant style. Signed by Christian Liaigre, French interior designer and decorator who died in September 2020. “He decorated a luxury hotel in New York, Paris… he worked for well-known companies such as Calvin Klein and Karl Lagerfeld”, explains l show expert Harold Hessel.

Estimated 300 €, sold twice
In the auction room, the estimate of 300 euros was quickly reached and Olivier is preparing to close the deal when the auction resumes. It is ultimately Caroline Margeridon who buys the object for a price of 600 euros.
“It was a crooked sale,” concludes Olivier, who wants to reinvest in other things with the money he earns.
The fleas of the canal remain open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursdays and Saturdays and from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays with prefectural authorization.
