Lyon. New composting terminals installed in 5 municipalities in 2023

Around 700 new composting terminals will see the light of day in 1^and2^and3^and4^and and 8^and districts of Lyon in 2023. Already tested in 7^and district from 2021, these recycling bins will collect food waste.

In detail, 307 terminals will be installed in 1^andon 4^and and on the 8th^and in spring. So 384 terminals within 2^and and 3^and municipalities, from September to October. Another 300 composting terminals are being installed in Villeurbanne. Several municipalities in the west of Lyon have also joined the system.

With 150 terminals, the Métropole de Lyon already collects more than eight tons of food waste per week in 7^andnoticed Lyon Capital. The food waste collected by the Métropole is then processed into fertiliser.
