Ahead of Lyon’s match against Auxerre on Friday night, French newspaper L’Equipe stated that the club’s new Swedish signing Amin Sarr had impressed the coaching staff and the former MFF player was expected to make his first start at his new club.

And so it was.

With Sarr in the eleven, Lyon took the lead in the first half through Moussa Dembele. But in the second act of the match bottom team Auxerre turned around and won 2-1.

– I want to apologize to all the supporters who came here tonight. Especially for the second half, it was unacceptable. We didn’t show enough character, says Dejan Lovren, who recently returned to Lyon, according to RMC Sport.

Amin Sarr played 75 minutes before being substituted.

Lyon is in ninth place in Ligue 1. Auxerre is parked in 19th place, that is, below the relegation zone.
