Olympique Lyonnais, bottom before the end of the 7th day, lost once again on Sunday in Reims (2-0), which climbed onto the podium (3rd), behind Brest, runner-up in the French championship after their match draw in Nice (0-0).
Overtaken the day before in the standings by Clermont, who won a draw against PSG, Lyon has still not won a match in the league and has only two points, and already five defeats. The Lyonnais will occupy last place in Ligue 1 at the end of this day.
Two weeks after the appointment of the Italian Fabio Grosso to their bench, OL, without Alexandre Lacazette suspended, are not emerging from the crisis born from their poor start to the championship.
“I don’t know what to tell you… I’m touched. I have been an OL supporter since I was little, I have never seen the club in this position,” commented emotional midfielder Corentin Tolisso after the meeting on Prime Video.
Conversely, with this victory, Stade de Reims climbed onto the podium and into third place with thirteen points.
Nice and Reims tied
Just ahead of Reims, Brest, first after the 6th day, fell to second place in the ranking after a draw in Nice (0-0), which remains undefeated this season.
The two teams, who could take the lead in L1 in the event of a victory, neutralized each other during a fairly closed match apart from a post for the Brestois (8th) and the crossbar for the Niçois (19th).
The locals’ week had been marked by concern about the environment Alexis Beka Beka, safe and sound after being taken care of by the firefighters and the police on Friday when he was in a situation of great distress.
Fabian Rieder starts with Rennes
At Roazhon park where homophobic chants were sung on Sunday evening, a week after other chants at the Parc des princes, Rennes, 6th, managed to get rid of Nantes, 13th, (3-1) during the derby of the West. Nantes were reduced to ten after the expulsion of Mostafa Mohamed, for a second yellow card and author of a gesture of humor against the referee (77th).
Fabian Rieder started for the first time under his new colors. He left the field in the 71st for Doué who scored two minutes later.
In the middle of the table, Lille, in 6th place, easily won on Sunday at Le Havre (2-0), while Toulouse, 10th, beat Metz (3-0) with Vincent Sierro from the 65th (booked at the 75th).
At the bottom of the standings, Lorient finds itself 16th with this defeat against Montpellier, 8th, (3-0) at the Moustoir stadium. Hérault captain Téji Savanier scored his first goal of the season from the penalty spot and Nigerian Akor Adams scored twice. Mvogo started in the Lorient cages, just like Omeragic in the Montpellier defense.
